I admit first off that I was blessed by God to be raised in a family that loved me. I have a mother, father, grand parents and many aunts and uncles that cared about family. So, as a child, when family would come over for the holidays or we, as a family would visit family, the most common sign of affection was the hug.

Imagine my surprise, then, that the Girl Scouts of America has warned parents to stop the practice of showing affection via the ‘HUG’. More accurately, the leadership of the Girl Scouts of America are trying to discourage the practice by saying ‘do not force your daughter to show affection by hugging’. “Think of it this way, telling your child that she owes someone a hug either just because she hasn’t seen this person in a while or because they gave her a gift can set the stage for her questioning whether she ‘owes’ another person any type of affection….”

I remember studies in my first year of college psychology that people that do not receive affection as a child actually ‘crave’ it as an adult. The people that were deprived of affection as a child ‘could’ grow up with a warped sense of what affection is. Studies show that ‘some’ women that grow up with a warped sense of affection have trouble showing affection as an adult.

I understand what Dr. Andrea Bastiani Archibald, children developmental psychologist for the Girl Scouts of America is ‘trying’ to promote. But I think many people are over reacting to the reports of late in Hollywood. Major actors and producers are being ‘outed’ as pedophiles and sexual harassers. The Hollywood ‘casting couch’ is finally being exposed for the filth it has become. Forcing female actors to perform sexual favors to get the acting job was, is and will always be wrong.

What message is being sent to Americas children when a former President of the United States of America not only had sexual relationships in the Oval Office and was accused of ‘rape’ in many cases like Juanita Broderick and Paula Jones but has also been implicated in visiting so called pedophile island with friend Jeffrey Epstein aboard a private Boeing 727 nicknamed the “Lolita Express” which had a large bed, reportedly, so that guests could engage in group sex with under aged girls  while in flight to a private island where more of the same could take place. Flight logs report that Bill Clinton was a guest aboard that flight 26 times.

The cockroaches are scurrying. Many famous actors are now being accused of ‘inappropriate’ sexual advances on women and even some young boys. Harvey Weinstein, Kevin Spacey, Dustin Hoffman, Ben Affleck, Louis C.K., Andy Dick and many more (the list keeps growing) have all been implicated in inappropriate sexual behavior.

This is not a problem with Hollywood or Washington D.C. but with America as a whole. We, as a society, has chased God out of our lives. He is no longer welcome in our courts, schools, television and radio broadcasts. We have effectively locked God out of our hearts and minds and replaced him with sexual perversions and we ask ourselves ‘what went wrong’. When the Girl Scouts of America are sending letters to parent telling them to replace the hug with a high five, something is morally wrong with our society. It is God and the teachings of the Bible that have encouraged mankind to treat each other with love and kindness.

If you keep God front and center in your life, the life of your family and household I dare say that there will be no room for sexual perversions that distort and warp the minds of our children.

What happens when you turn the lights on? The cockroaches scurry for cover and hide away in the darkness. The problem of sexual perversions has been plaguing mankind since before biblical times. Places so perverse that they had to be destroyed by God existed and those places were Sodom and Gomorrah. God is giving us a last chance to turn back to him before America is added to that list. The question is, what will YOU do with this opportunity?
