Pray or prey

To those few that have found my blog, thank you and welcome to the first post of the year.

Nancy Pelosi continues to show America who and what she is. Earlier this week, Nancy Pelosi commented that pro-life Americans who are largely Republicans are hypocrites because they ‘Pray in church on Sunday and prey on everyone the rest of the week’. She had commented that “Democrats are people of faith too” and “…we are doing the Lords work by ministering to the needs of God’s creation but they are ignoring those needs, which is to dishonor the God who made them”.

Let me dissect her statements as I see them. Let me first say that I am a Christian first, then a husband/father/grandfather then and American. I follow the teachings of Jesus Christ who is God the Son that is spoken of in the Holy Bible’s New Testament. Now, I read, in Genesis chapter 1 verse 27 “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God he created him; male and female He created them”. Then, in Genesis chapter 9 verse 6 we read “Whosoever sheds mans blood, By man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God He made man’.

Now, lets jump to Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 where God said “Before I shaped you in the womb, I knew all about you. Before you saw the light of day, I had holy plans for you…”

With these messages from God fresh in our minds, let us look at the topic of abortion which is what Nancy Pelosi was referring to. I must ask what God Nancy is referring to. She claims that Democrats are people of faith too. But she does not say, but only infers what God she has faith in. Muslims are people of faith. Buddhists are people of faith, Jews are people of faith. The word faith is defined as “complete trust or confidence in someone or something”. So again I ask to what Nancy has faith in? It is said that complete trust in government could be construed as a form of religion. In that case, if you have complete trust in government, it could be said that your faith is in government and not in God. You see, government is comprised of faulty men and women where God is faultless. When Nancy Pelosi says “… we are doing the Lords work by ministering to the needs of God’s creation…” just how is she ministering to God’s creation? And to what God is she referring to? If she is referring to the god of government (a false god with a lower case g) then Nancy Pelosi may just have spoken a truth as she sees it.  By telling so many women, and subsequently men as well, that if a woman has a child out of wedlock, the government will become the pseudo husband, then generations of women AND MEN become dependent on government and thereby a slave to government. By telling men that the government will care for a child, the men never need to step up and take responsibility for their procreating decisions, and the women rely on government instead of herself and her life partner. But the abortion subject (which I have been trying to avoid because it is detestable to me) is far more diabolical. Setting aside the health of the mother, or in cases of rape and incest, abortion is nothing less than the destruction of the image of God. It is not my business if someone chooses to have an abortion. That should be left to the woman, her doctor and hopefully the, for lack of a better term, sperm donor. But asking the government to provide such a service is the same as reaching into my pocket and taking my money to pay for your choice.

So, again I ask, to what god is Nancy Pelosi referring to when she says that “…Democrats are people of faith too …”? To what is she placing her faith in? In Matthew chapter 6 verse 24, Jesus says “You can not worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you will end up hating the other. Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can not worship God and money both”. Not just money, but anything that takes the place of God in your heart. If you place your faith in government more than your faith in God, then government has become your God.

I am not saying that government is bad. But placing your faith in government in direct opposition to God of the Bible, you have supplanted God with government. God commands us to respect the image of Himself to which we, as humans are made in the likeness of. Again, I understand there may be a need for the procedure, but to use that procedure as a form of birth control is like saying you should crash a plane to prevent flying. I guess you could say that I am pro choice as I choose life over death. I choose to place my faith in God of the Bible and not people with faults. I believe government is, as Thomas Payne once said, a necessary evil.
